Stewardship Project Support for Producers in the Kawartha Lakes and Beyond - This event has already occurred
Event Details:
Ever wondered how you could adjust your agricultural practices to improve your farm’s impact on local waterways and ecosystems? Are you worried about threats from urban development, extreme weather, and invasive species? Or maybe you’re just looking for financial or technical support to implement your big idea?
Join us for a Lunch-and-Learn on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, to learn more about agricultural stewardship from local conservation authorities. Speakers include Danielle Marcoux-Hunter, Landowner and Community Support at Kawartha Conservation; Peter Shuttleworth, Restoration Projects Specialist at Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority; Patrick Esson, Senior Project Manager, Restoration Projects at Toronto Region Conservation Authority; and Robin Brown, Workshop Leader at Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association. Together, our presenters will share exceptional projects undertaken by producers across the eastern GTA that support sustainable soil management, water conservation, and overall watershed health. Additionally, attendees will gain more information on how to overcome technical and financial barriers by learning about funding opportunities and agricultural stewardship programs available for producers in the Kawartha Watershed, Lake Simcoe Watershed, and Toronto Region.
