Explore the Night Sky - This event has already occurred
Event Details:
Visitors to the Kawartha Fall Festival the night of Saturday, October 1, will be treated to a special opportunity to explore the night sky from 7:30 to 10:30pm at Ken Reid Conservation Area.
Join members of the Peterborough Astronomical Association for a tour of the night sky, using telescopes to observe Saturn, the first quarter moon and deep space objects. Ask questions, learn about constellations, and join a group of astronomy enthusiasts to experience sights that are out of this world.
All telescopes will be provided by the Peterborough Astronomical Association. Attendees are welcome to bring their own binoculars and tripods if desired.
The Kawartha Fall Festival is a FREE family event featuring guided hikes, walks, events, demonstrations and more from Saturday, October 1 to Thanksgiving weekend.
There is no cost of admission but donations of non-perishable food items for the Kawartha Lakes Food Source are greatly appreciated. There will be a drop-off area near the main Administrative Building.
