Fall Fest - Mushroom ID Hike at Ken Reid Conservation Area - This event has already occurred

Event Details:

Join Conservation Areas Technician Rebecca Pomeroy and explore the mushrooms of Ken Reid Conservation Area.

Mushrooms are a fascinating part of our conservation area, from corrals to cups, puff balls to turkey tail, come explore Ken Reid Conservation Area and see how many species you can find. During the hike, you will learn simple identification tips and interesting facts about fungi along the way. Rebecca has a keen eye for fungi and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with everyone.

The Mushroom ID Hike will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with registered participants meeting at the main parking lot, located near the dog park, at Ken Reid Conservation Area. The guided experience is part of our 2nd Kawartha Fall Fest. The event is free, but registration is required as space is limited to 15 participants to ensure an intimate and interactive experience. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather.

The second Kawartha Fall Fest will kick off on Saturday, September 23rd from 10am - 5pm.

This free family event will feature a day full of family-friendly activities, special guests, up-close animal encounters, guided hikes, and more. There is no cost for any of the events or activities (though some require registration as some events have a maximum number of participants).
