IWM Speaker Series: Water Temperature & Fish - This event has already occurred
Event Details:
Water temperature plays an important role in the overall health of aquatic ecosystems by affecting the presence, productivity, timing of reproduction, and movement of aquatic organisms.
Changes to the water temperature regime, for example the warming of a waterbody, can have profound consequences on fish communities by altering the habitat in which they live.
This lunch-and-learn will focus on a component of Kawartha Conservation’s Environmental Monitoring program that tracks water temperatures in coldwater streams, with particular focus on whether these sensitive features are at risk from warming air temperatures and what we can do to help mitigate negative impacts.
